The Challenge
Transform complex technical data from PeeringDB—the industry-standard database of internet exchange points and network infrastructure—into visual, digestible formats that non-technical audiences can understand and use for policy and economic development decisions.
The Solution
We built a suite of research tools powered by a nightly clone of the PeeringDB database via their API. The platform includes interactive maps of global internet exchanges, the "Meet Me In..." city research series, searchable infrastructure directories, and an AI-powered interview feature exploring where AI physically interconnects around the world.
Key Features
YellowDog worked closely with Hunter Newby to build a suite of research tools designed to make complex infrastructure data accessible.
Interactive IX Maps
Visual maps showing internet exchange locations across the US, Canada, and globally. Users can explore facilities by state, province, or city to understand regional connectivity.

"Meet Me In..." Research Series
In-depth articles analyzing physical network interconnection points in 21+ North American markets. Each report combines PeeringDB data with local context for policymakers.

AI Interconnection Book
A living interview between AI and Hunter Newby exploring where AI itself physically interconnects around the world, featuring daily-updating data on those physical interconnection points.

Infrastructure Search
Searchable database leveraging PeeringDB data, enabling users to explore internet exchanges, interconnection facilities, peers, and organizations worldwide.
